Richard Gere

Tiffany Richard Gere (born August 31, 1949) is a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award-winning American actor. A prototypical leading man of romantic and dramatic films, he first became known in 1980 and since then has managed to keep its status.

In 1990-ies and 2000s, he starred in several films that received well, pretty woman, primal fear and Chicago for which he won a Golden Globe for best actor.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gere is a descendant of Mayflower worshipers Francis Eaton, John Billington, George Soule, Richard Warren, Degory Priest, William Brewster and Francis Cooke. Gere mother, Doris Anna (nee Tiffany), was homemaker, and his father, George Homer Gere, an insurance agent of National Insurance Company and the investment originally aimed to become minister.Gere has three sisters and brother. In 1967, he graduated from North Syracuse Central High School, where he excelled in Physical Education and music, playing the trumpet. He participated in the University of Massachusetts at Amherst gymnastics scholarship, majoring in philosophy, but has not completed, leaving after two years.
